Photo by @haarbergphoto (Erlend Haarberg) I started the new year with a tent trip in the Dovrefjell mountains, photographing muskox (Ovibus moschatus)  in chilly winter temperatures during the short hours of daylight.
Muskoxes are well adapted to the harsh arctic environment. They have two layers of fur: the soft and dense inner coat is covered by a heavy coat of long guard hairs, which gives a perfect insulation against cold and wind in winter.
