Photo by @nickcobbing Our stay in the ice started with total darkness in February and ended in bright sunlight in March, the light changes fast at this high latitude. We greeted the coming of the sun with joy; darkness defined the atmosphere and we were all craving sunlight. During the transition from dark to light I used any light available; whether that was the ship’s lighting, the faint blue glow reflected off the frozen ocean that surrounded our ship, or the moonlight.
