“I never wanted to play music because I didn’t want to do the same thing as my dad. But when I was 16, a few guys from my school came up to me. They thought that I could play bass because my dad was a bassist. They asked me to play in their band. I was too shy to say no. But I was more interested in playing the guitar and writing songs, because I saw what songwriting did for people. My dad and the frontman of the band he played in, they both seemed kind of relieved after writing a song.
