Remember Mike from a couple posts ago? This is his girlfriend Tamra. When I asked to take their photo she seemed really excited.. Immediately grabbing Mike by the arm & holding him close. (I initially wanted a portrait of each by themselves) She seemed really happy to have him. When they separated for individual portraits she kept looking over at him & half smiling. It was as if she missed him for that brief moment of not holding his arm for the photo. (I almost felt guilty) And in that same brief moment of me looking through the lens I came to realize that though they may be homeless they certainly are not poor. They are rich, abundant, flush, ample with love. & it made me happy. - Now for a cliché ending to this note - If you are quick to judge a tattered book by its cover then you are running the risk of missing out on an enlivening story within. \ maybe keep this in mind with a certain day coming up.
