This is my first time using a Nikko G nib in a Tachikawa wooden nib holder (available at my very fave Japanese stationery and art supply shop @jetpens) and also my first time to finally enjoy this luscious Sumi Ink 60 that the awesome folks at @kuretakezig_usa sent me awhile ago. The Nikko G nib is incredible for calligraphy practice, especially for a newbie like me. It gives good line variation, I don't have to dip every second and it is meant to be broken in over time. It's perfect for beginner calligraphers, and I'm really happy with it. The Tachikawa holder is not only lovely to look at but very comfortable to handle. And the Kuretake ink is such a dream to write with and fast drying. It's also watercolour and marker-proof (including with Copics and other alcohol markets). Also I've discovered that Midori graph paper is awesome for handlettering practice and takes to the nib and Sumi ink wonderfully. I'm so inspired by all the incredible calligraphy posts that I regularly see and decided to just dive in and begin my journey with it, and so far it's so much fun like a brand new world opening before me. ✨
