At the SKi Industry of America (SIA) trade show in Denver Gina spoke at the opening breakfast hosted by @protectourwinters. @audenshendler, POW board member and Director of Sustainability for @aspensnowmass, moderated a discussion on climate and why the Clean Power Plan is a good thing for our nation and the planet.
Climate should be a non-partisan issue. Given the science backing anthropogenic induced climate variability we should work towards a common goal. No one questions cancer, nor is cancer turned into a political pillow to clobber the opposition. Climate should be a discussion we can have with all people, regardless of one's political idealogy. The effects will impact future generations regardless. As a gentle reminder, 2015 was the warmest year on record, eclipsing 2014.
Solar energy continues to grow. In 2015 the solar business sector grew by 20 % and provided 1 in 83 new jobs. (Stats : tsfcensus.org)
While we won't be able to stop fossil fuel consumption tomorrow, planning for the future is the right thing to do.
