From Dec '15 to Jan '16, Ana (@nina_a_gatinha) and I started a #TisAlwaysTheSeasonForAdoption campaign and asked you to share your adoption stories using the hashtag above. We would then pick one story to feature and the winner would receive a drawing by @daniigrams_art of their pet! However, as Ana and I could not decide on just one story to feature for #TisAlwaysTheSeasonForAdoption we selected TWO instead. Here is the first one... Congratulations @andy_paristexas!!! ❤️❤️❤️ #Repost @andy_paristexas ・・・ I've been so inspired by the #TisAlwaysTheSeasonForAdoption stories that I wanted to share ours. Miko was rescued as a kitten and had a home where she lived until she was 5 years old. But when her owner had to give her up, she was surrendered to the @adoptfriends4life Friends for Life animal shelter. This was not an easy adjustment for Miko, and she had a hard time with shelter life. Fortunately she got a foster family who gave her a temporary home and lots of love. She spent 2.5 years with FFL either at the shelter or with the foster home, patiently waiting... About a year ago I was looking at cats on the FFL website and when I saw Miko's picture I knew she should be a part of our little family. We set up a play date, where we met this shy little thing, who would stay just out of reach and frequently retreated back to her carrier. We took her home, and when I opened the carrier the shy cat was nowhere to be found and Miko came out instead. She explored every corner and immediately claimed possession of both the apartment and us. ? Miko has found a loving home twice, but not all cats are lucky enough to find one even once. So consider adopting, and please don't overlook adult cats when looking for a pet, because they're awesome too! Won't you share your adoption story as well? Ps.
