I shot this picture in Luang Prabang, Laos, which is renowned for its network of Buddhist temples and statues.

In the past few decades the number of practicing Buddhists has fallen. Without as many monks, some of the buildings have fallen into a state of disrepair. However, Luang Prabang is now recognized as a World Heritage Site and has received funds to restore is architectural splendor.
