BEGINNER'S LUCK WITH A TWIST! We all have our favorite green smoothies that we love to blend up every day. There seems to be no other more popular smoothie than our community favorite, Beginner’s Luck. It’s hard to mess with perfection, but we’ve taken this recipe a step further by adding in some carrot tops. Rich in vitamins and minerals, like potassium and calcium, carrot tops also contain protein and more than 6 times the vitamin C of carrots. Be sure to use organic tops to avoid contamination from pesticides.

So think twice before tossing the leafy green carrot tops – blend them up instead!

BEGINNER'S LUCK WITH TOPS | serves two
1 1/2 cup spinach, fresh
2 carrots, include leafy tops
2 cups water
1 cup pineapple
1 cup mango
1 banana

DIRECTIONS

1. Blend spinach, carrot top leaves, and water until smooth.

2. Next add the remaining fruits and blend again. *You can grate your carrots with a cheese grater, or steam them to soften them before blending. Use at least one frozen fruit to make the green smoothie cold.
