A leap to THE SWEET LIFE by Sam Lehr of @MUCHOMASCACAO / “Two years ago I was an associate at a high-powered DC law firm. Now I own a chocolate company. Early on in my law career, I realized I hated the person I was turning into. I wasn’t miserable on a daily basis, but when I really stopped to think about where I was heading and how I wanted to be spending my time, I knew something had to change. On August 31, 2013 I left my job and spent the next year on what I dubbed a Life Re-evaluation Journey (LRJ). I drove 40k miles around the US and Canada, almost entirely by myself. It was the best experience of my life. As I emerged from my LRJ, unsure of what to do next, a friend asked me to help him get some chocolate made for the holidays. One year, two trips to Nicaragua and a lot of chocolate later, I am the proud co-founder of MUCHOMAS Chocolate. The company started as a way to get chocolate made for our friends, and we continue to operate it based on the philosophy that the people you meet are as important as the food you eat.” ⠀
