In 1971, the BMW 3.0 CS was introduced to replace the BMW 2800 CS which was based on the same platform. One year later, a lighter, racing version was introduced by the name of BMW 3.0 CSL that would come to dominate the European Touring Car Championship in the 1970's.

Committed to expanding and combining worlds previously deemed segregated, #BMW brought art to the automotive sphere in 1975 with the invention of the #BMWArtCar featuring the BMW 3.0 CSL.
