Something like a year and a half ago, 8 months ago, & working up to my opener yesterday. Danny has done so much for me; not only as an athlete but as a person in general. Very excited to see what we can do in the future with my career. "#happyathletesmakebetterathletes" ? #Repost @camargo_oly with @repostapp. ・・・ Quick Tip: New PRs aren't the only way to quantify performance. People in our community, especially newcomers, rely too heavily on PRs to indicate improvement. There are other aspects such as confidence, comfort, mental strength, consistency, and technique that should also be accepted as signs of improvement. Further, I encourage coaches to keep cues and corrections for beginners and intermediate athletes as simple as possible and focus on the basics. The worst thing a coach can do is over-cue or over-coach. There will be a time where "splitting hairs" is warranted, and I determine that time by movement, consistency and automation NOT strength or load on the bar. If an athlete displays the same form at heavy as they do at light weight, they're advanced. If their technique breaks down significantly once the weight is heavy, they're not there yet. For all coaches and athletes out there: be patient, work hard, know that there is no overnight success in this game and you'll be where you want to be. Trust your training!
