"We, in Syria, die quickly, but in this place we die slowly," says Fatima Ahmad, a refugee mother-of-five who is trying to reunite with family in Germany. Ahmad said she and her family crawled “like snakes” on their journey through Turkey and Greece only to end up in the Idomeni camp that has sprung up next to the closed border crossing with Macedonia.
