Photo by @スティーブ・マカリー // Overlooking the town of Bamiyan, Afghanistan, are the hollows that once contained the famous Buddha statues which stood for 1500 years, until they were destroyed by the Taliban in 2001. Hundreds of caves pepper the rock face, which were once used by Buddhist monks. Many are now homes for people whose homes were destroyed.
@Imagine_Asia has established the Young Women's Photographic Initiative in Bamiyan, in order to give young women the tools to create their own art.
