My high school sweetheart sent me this pic today for my birthday. She wrote in the email, "you look like you're thinking big thoughts." I always was. I was always sitting in class trying to think myself into existence, think a future for myself and obtain my vast ideas.

I was 17 here in Lucile Burt's Creative Writing class (also had her for Journalism, periods 2 and 5). I dreamed about my name in lights, people cheering for me and hearing thunderous applause. But here there was the silence of a classroom where Jen snapped a picture of just ordinary Dane before there was a single autograph, poster or comedy album.

I like this kid. He was a nice boy, was good to his mom, worked hard at a pizza place and sometimes he made jokes in school where Jen and others would say, "what are you some kinda comedian or something?"

Yes to both.
