Today's theme is #SecretsMW, so we’re sharing the story (literally) behind #RobertRauschenberg’s fabled “Erased de Kooning Drawing.” At first glance, the artwork isn’t much to look at: it’s a smudged piece of paper in a thin gold frame. But flip the work around and see dozens of exhibition labels crowding the back of the frame.
