This was how we accomplished smoke sfx on my first film, #Clerks - we smoked cigarettes right under the camera. I wanted to create a cloud through which we'd reveal @marilynghigliotti holding a fire extinguisher. But when the fire extinguisher spit out un-cinematic liquid foam, my Hail Mary to save the shot was everything you see here. What a stupid l'il amateur I was back then, using cigarettes to create the effect of smoke machine. 22 year film veteran me now knows that weed would've worked so much better.. #LifeLessons #KevinSmith #Miramax #quickstop #1994
