Brilliant photographer @garethtpowell is taking over the AnOther Instagram today, bringing us a selection of BMW Art Cars. "I am in love with the fact that such iconic artists have been asked to paint all over these beautiful yet massive and aggressive looking cars," he explains. "There have been 17 car/artist pairings over the last 50 years, but of course the early ones were the best…" First up: a 1976 BMW 3.0 CSL x Frank Stella. "I was obsessed with graph paper when I was younger: lines, squares, triangles, more lines. I spent hours mesmerised by this simple grid on a white sheet of A4 paper. Then, at around 11 years old, I discovered that Frank Stella had wrapped a car in it. From that point, Frank’s patterns, colours and basic use of line has always intrigued me. This was also the point at which I became obsessed by these cars and the paintwork on them." #anothertakeover
