A year ago a massive earthquake struck Nepal and was felt throughout the Himalaya, into India and Tibet. Thousands of people died and millions were affected. 365 days later, life goes on in much the same ways that it always has. Most of the rubble has been cleared and massive rebuilding is underway. The efforts employ everyone from men to women to children. It's a constant human buzz...a motion that is slow, methodical, and as it's always been. @adrianballinger and I arrived at Everest Base Camp on the North side of the mountain today. His team recalls the gentle swaying of the table gradually gathering power and momentum, forcing the team outside of the mess tent to wait it out as rock slides released from the surrounding slopes. Then it was silent. Only after setting up a radio that could hear the chatter from the south side of the mountain could the gravity of the event begin to set in.
