I went with friends to see Iggy Pop at the @greek_theatre last night and it was EFFIN AWESOME! I have seen Iggy, with and without various incarnations of the Stooges many times over the years, but his backing band, including @joshhomme from @queensofthestoneage sounded amazing. Iggy played a ton of great stuff from The Idiot, and Lust For Life, which are my two favorites of his solo albums. He also played Repo Man, a song I love, but he rarely plays, which was pretty surreal, because #SteveJones of the Sex Pistols, who played guitar on the original recording, was sitting with us! Iggy is an inspiration in his energy and longevity… I guess Lust for Life wasn’t bullshit. Check out Iggy’s new record: Post Pop Depression… it is great and very much in the vein of Iggy’s collaborations with Bowie when they were hanging in Berlin.
