A few of the remaining grand houses on Jarvis Street. Prior to the 1940s, Jarvis was a grand tree filled street, lined with the mansions of some of #Toronto’s wealthiest families. Then in 1947 the street was forever changed when many of it’s trees were ripped out to widen the street for increased automobile traffic. A few of the grand mansions remain, but they have been repurposed, converted to restaurants, multi-dwelling homes, and one into a Mac’s Convenience store (for a time, now vacant).
