Cedar was brought to the shelter as a stray, but from her stricken demeanor, it would appear that she was someone's beloved pet. She lies on the floor with her tail tucked tightly between her legs and her head down. She is scared. Does she smell the faint odor of death and fear that must permeate every inch of this high kill shelter? The shelter is not giving Cedar much time to find a home. She was first available for adoption only #three days ago -- and NOW she's on the #kill list. ?

Cedar is only two years old. She is listed as a German shepherd, but she looks like she might have some retriever in her. Of course, the only way to be sure of a dog's breed is to do a DNA test. Cedar hadn't been at the shelter very long, but she is already on the kill list. She's only been available for adoption since April 29 -- that's three whole days she was given before being sentenced to die.

There is not much information about her besides her age and the fact that she will die without adoption or rescue. For more information, contact the shelter. Please share Cedar's story. There are so many dogs at this shelter that most of them will not make it out alive. The simple truth is that too few of them get networked, no matter how hard and diligently the volunteers are about posting the pictures and stories, there are too many dogs and too few adopters.
