On my MC job trip to Jakarta, Indonesia, a ska miracle happened. Friends in Singapore (Full Pledge Monkeys) hooked me up with Jakarta Ska Foundation ( @skartefak ). I had a few hours free before my flight, and the foundation picked me and our translator (she worked with Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, another miracle there) up at the hotel, took us to their amazing headquarters, and told us everything I wanted to know about their ska scene. They hold ska education workshops before gigs. They have a YouTube channel, you guys will be amazed about how far they go to try and spread good ska music.
Learning and FEELING the scenes in London, Korea, and now Jakarta, all within a few months... I feel blessed, and simultaneously, responsible to do "something" with this unique knowledge. Stay tuned✨

ジャカルタにてMCのお仕事後、ミラクルが✨ 日本のスカフェス「ホッピン」に去年出てたシンガポールのバンド「Full Pledge Monkeys」が、【ジャカルタ・スカ・ファンデーション】というスカの組織と繋いでくれた。最終日に5時間ほど自由時間あったので、24年前にジャカルタでスカパラを担当されてた(これもミラクル)最強通訳様と一緒に、彼らのアジトに遊びに行かせて頂くことに✨
世界が「いま、キテるらしいよ」と噂する彼らのスカシーンについて、知りたいこと全て聞けた。幸せです♡

ロンドン→韓国→ジャカルタのシーンを数ヶ月以内で知り尽くす出来事のスピードに、何か「意味」を感じてます。
