"The sun was setting at midnight, but I had gotten used to it over the past 9 days of driving through the Icelandic countryside. As I crawled down the muddy slope, I used my tripod for support, trying not to slip. Completely exhausted, and racing against the rotation of the earth, I sat down as the cold water rose to my waist. I set my composition and focus, then hit the shutter. This is the image that appeared on the back of my camera.
