June 3rd, 2016 is the day Mohammad Ali died. Wow. Mohammad Ali, the greatest: lived outside of the status quo, understood psychic advantage, was a mascot of the power of community. I met him once. I was 19 or 20. Julio Cesar Chavez was fighting. A young Tyson was sitting to my right, then a hand came into view -- a big mit. "Hello". Mohammad Ali. I made him laugh, and he made himself float. A trick. Mohammad Ali floated for me. I watched all his fights as a kid where I grew up in Paso Robles. 3,6 & 12 were the only channels we got. Howard Cosell. I remember the fights like they were yesterday. I was a kid, fascinated by this bigger than life personality and talent and thinker and I liked how he lived. He made and played his own drum. It's a painful time right now. Hard to trust anybody, especially in politics. We forget we have a voice. Some people hate those who fight the status quo, who live their own lives. But in the end, we all love Mohammad Ali because of what he was made of -- inside. He had character, and strength.
Mohammad Ali floated for me. Thank you, God. I'm good. ❤️? #whoarewe #rip #respect
