#BruceSpringsteen released his career-defining “#BornintheUSA.” on this day in 1984. His seventh studio album, it was a huge commercial success as well as a hit with critics. As Rolling Stone wrote in its review of the record at the time: “#Springsteen ignored the British Invasion and embraced instead the legacy of Phil Spector’s releases, the sort of soul that was coming from Atlantic Records and especially the garage bands that had anomalous radio hits.
