Yamabushi, mountain warrior monks, once roamed the sacred forests of Dewasanzan in Northern Japan. They lived an ascetic lifestyle and studied martial arts to achieve mental, physical and spiritual states of perfection. One of their traditions was to endure near freezing temperatures in mountain streams as these Tokyo salary men are doing here in a corporate leadership training exercise. 10 minutes was about all anyone could withstand.
