Migration, voluntary or mandatory, is an integral aspect of the human experience. Our heritage has been shaped by painful experiences. Whether in the belly of a ship or the top of a train, through a tunnel or trunk, our American narrative has been informed by these experiences. Though filled with pain, and embarrassment, creating a safe space for the felling of these stories can construct bridges of healing and hope, enlightenment and empowerment.
With the experience of migration running through our veins, the stories of heritage are of equal value, and worthy of telling.
