Today is World Refugee Day. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) at least 65.3 million people were forcibly displaced from their home in 2015, a record since World War II.

In this photograph, a man carries his child across a river in an attempt to cross from Greece into Macedonia on March 15, 2016. He is one of hundreds of thousands who have left the conflict zones of Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan to make the dangerous trek into Europe, where they hope to live better lives.
