Thinking of the people present at my birth-my Mom Earlyn Sams Lawrence, Dad Tom Lawrence, Gampee and Grandma Sams, Uncle Steve Sams was there, Grandpa Ray Lawrence, Aunt Mary Jellicorse was onstage in the outdoor drama about Daniel Boone , THE HORN IN THE WEST, Aunt Irma Lonon was with us in Charlotte becoming my surrogate grandmother. Uncle Joe Joseph Carter Purcell was on his way in from Raleigh, the great Uncles and Aunts sending love from our roots in the mountains of North Carolina. I was born from and into love. And love is what got me right here, right now. #gratitude
