I based the song "Jipangu" (from Zone of Zen) off the story of Isabella Bird, an English world traveller who went to Japan during the Meiji Era. I recently discovered that a manga had come out with her as the protagonist. In real life, she was close to 50 when she went to Hokkaido to stay with the Ainu tribe, and later penned "Unbeaten Tracks in Japan" (hence the chorus!) #zoneofzen
