Aisha عائشة (radhiallahu `anha) reported that she asked Allah's Messenger (salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam), "O Messenger of Allah! If should witness Laylat ul-Qadr, what should I say during it?" The Prophet (salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam) advised her to say:
اَللَّهُمَّ إنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ ، تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي "Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'anni "
O Allah! You are forgiving, and you love forgiveness. So forgive me. [Reported by Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi]
