A bowl of mango. A glass of water. Angel cards and my notebook.
This is what most of my mornings look like these days. I cut up some fruit, sit in my meditation chair and journal first thing after I wake up. My angel card today tells me "Show Appreciation". To focus on what works, on what's going well, instead of what's not. To see abundance, not lacking. I have a tendency to focus on my shortcomings instead of my strengths, to always wonder how I can improve, be better, do better. It's exhausting, never feeling good enough. But it's during the quiet of the morning, when I get to sit in silence, that I find peace in knowing everything is fine just as it is. I'm fine. Just the way I am. I love this knowing because it changes everything and even though I have to keep reminding myself, I'm learning how to come back to it. Over and over again. It's here, in the silence that comes when you're looking out at your garden and enjoying your mango and doodling in your notebook. It's in the quiet moments. In the silence that arrives for no reason and it's perfect for no reason and in it, I'm perfect without having to give a reason to be, too. Life is abundant and this mango is delicious and there is nothing I need to improve. So I just sit here. Doing nothing.
It's my favorite moment of the day.
