I'm about to talk about something important. If you follow me you follow more than just a blonde model frolicking on a beach. You follow all of me, my heart my mind and my voice. That is why I love having this platform to communicate with you all.
We have seen the footage, we have witnessed the reality. But many of us will never experience it first hand. We are merely temporarily shocked and saddened by the stories we read or the footage we see but in a few mins or hours or days have forgotten and continued on with our lives. But there are families who've lost loved ones and individuals who face racism, prejudice and discrimination daily. Some of you will think I can't speak to this but I don't want to be a mute witnesses. I was humbled to read many of you asking me to post and support #BlackLivesMatter and I was disappointed in myself I hadn't sooner. Because being concerned about these issues is not political correctness. It’s just being human.
We were not born judging or making preconceptions of others based on the colour of their skin; their gender, religion, size, or sexuality. We are not our bodies. Our hearts, minds, souls and consciousness are who we are. The body is our vessel our home but it does not define who we are.
The fear is not voicing what we already know to be unacceptable. The real fear is being a by stander, denouncing responsibility because it does not directly affect your loved ones. When the reality is too many people have died and it must stop.
