If you’re looking at this photo in or near New York City, you’re probably sweating right now. In many parts of the region it feels like a stifling 97 degrees. This weekend, the area will see temperatures hang in the 90s, and the sizzle isn’t expected to taper until the middle of next week. Meanwhile, high temperatures and humidity are baking much of the central U.S. And with that heat comes humidity — the invisible force that takes your hair to new heights and feels like a dog panting its clammy breath down your neck. The photographer @george_etheredge ventured out into the #heatdome this afternoon while on #nytassignment. In Brooklyn’s Lincoln Terrace Park, he captured this group of children keeping cool in play sprinklers. Visit the link in our profile to read more about the “heat dome.”
