Looking through some wedding photos for our gallery wall ❤️ I feel inspired this morning to share that this photo was taken shortly after we said 'I do' a year ago and I cannot tell you how happy I was in this moment. The journey getting here was not easy. I met Steve in college & told him we couldn't fall in love with each other because my parents would never approve of our interracial relationship. When I fell in love with him (oops!) I was the happiest I ever was but also more scared than ever. I knew I would potentially lose my family who I love so much. I had no choice but to put my entire life in God's hands as He walked me through it all - the dark moments up to this very moment when we broke a cultural barrier. Getting married to Stevie was a dream come true. It was the most liberating thing I've ever done and I would do it all over again. In a heartbeat. I can't wait to see what else God has in store!
