What I came to Santorini for and witness with my own eyes? Originally painted in white to reflect the harsh heat, the roofs mainly rounded at the top for insulation and to drive away rain. The blue tops painted on churches, now sort of stand as the islands trademark colors. These famous beautiful stunning houses were built along the "caldera" the cliffside created by an old big volcanic eruption (which is still active btw?)
