Just a few days left until we know if climbing will be included in the Olympic Games 2020 for the very first time. For many climbers the Olympic dream finally comes true. However, we should not forget what this means. In my opinion, being forced to compete in every single discipline in order to even be allowed to compete is not the right way. The fact that there will only be a combined ranking won't allow the climbers to concentrate on only one (or 2) discipline(s) and this means the level of each discipline will eventually decrease, which is definitely not what climbers would want... Please think twice if you really want to be part of the “Olympic dream“ which will sooner or later change our whole sport.
