SENIOR SUNDAY!
"8 year old Lobo's "problem" is simply that he is shy. He is incredibly friendly, but the poor guy is so scared at the city shelter in Phoenix that he tries to hide in the back of his kennel all day. Lobo desperately wants someone to adopt him, and to love him forever and always. A volunteer wrote, "Although Lobo is shy with seeking out attention, once you start petting him, he doesn't want you to stop and will start wagging his tail or nudge your hand for more. Lobo is sometimes hesitant when walking through doors or going into a new room, but the more time you spend with him telling him everything is okay and encouraging him, the braver he gets. That's why it breaks my heart so much to put him back in his kennel: brave Lobo disappears and he immediately retreats to the back of his kennel and hunkers down.
Lobo has done well with his kennel mates in the past who are all around his same size (guessing he is 40-50 pounds). He has met some 'junior volunteer' kids, ages 7 and 9, who were very gentle with him and he did well with them.

Lobo needs a loving, patient home to help him relax and come out of his shell. Potential adopters that walk by can't know what a wonderful mellow sweetheart he is, because he's always hiding."
