Give it up for @mingchen37, who is working today on his birthday, shooting Season 6 of #ComicBookMen at @jayandsilentbobstash! I met the little man who introduced me to the Internet because he was a #Clerks fan who built an online shrine to my first film way back in #1995. What initially drew him to the flick in the first place was some unseen representation: Caitlin's fiancé Sang was referenced as being an Asian design major, which was also what #MingChen was at the time while attending college in #annarbor. I met him via email and told him how much I loved his Clerks site before asking Ming to build the #ViewAskew website. In late '95/early '96, Ming created a digital playground in which I could talk to the real, live folks who actually bought tickets to my movies. Long before the 140 characters of Twitter, I'd hang on the View Askew Message Board with people like @bqquinn - the @impracticaljokersofficial and #tesd star who I hired off the Board to create our mail order business, before you could easily accept credit cards online. I have an audience today due in no small part to Ming, who built a digital soapbox from which I could communicate with the people keeping my career afloat with the interest.
