Today we are excited to meet our new team of graduate #chivas ambassadors who will be placed in cities around the world! They will be hoping to educate consumers about this wonderful #blended #scotch #whisky. First thing we do is get them to hold up the glass, admire the golden colour which it picks up from careful ageing in oak casks. Each #maltwhisky must be matured for at least 12 years, just look at the drops above the surface. These are known as 'tears' which then form 'legs' as they saunter down the inside of the glass. These are useful to help us understand the body of the whisky and the quality of the oiliness depicts how long the whiskies have spent in the cask. The fuller the 'tears', the slower they run down the 'legs' and the richer the taste. That's why we call them 'tears of joy' - soon we will be discovering the aroma and the taste.
