During a recent trip Everglades National Park, a pair of Manatees surfaced in the Flamingo Marina and spent the next hour feeding off seagrass attached to the dock, seemingly oblivious to the human and boat presence all around them. It was my first encounter with the gentle m #seacow and one I will not soon forget. Their slow-moving, curious nature unfortunately makes them vulnerable to boat traffic in the region and manatees are listed as endangered in Florida.
