I think about Ruben everyday. I fell so in love with him at Casa Guatemala from the beginning because when it was my first day there, and I was in a foreign country surrounded by hundreds of children whose language I can't speak well, he made me feel less lost. I walked into the classroom he was in randomly and he grabbed me with both of his hands and just held onto me and made me stay beside him for the rest of the class, and then after it ended he took my hand and walked with me through Casa. Every time I felt overwhelmed there I would go find him and he was just so sweet and silly and welcoming and it melted my heart and truly made me feel so much more comforted. Age and words don't matter as much as some people think they do. He became my friend despite both factors. I wish there was an easier way to be able to talk to him, but it's such a pleasure to be able to sponsor him and be the one who ensures his continued care and education. He is a light. He inspires me so much and I send a prayer out to the Universe each night that he continues to be as happy and healthy as possible. Just look at how precious he is :') ✨???????????
