Cake with a Special Meaning. This may not be the most delicious Chocolate Banana (in fact, a little dry) but it holds a special meaning because it was served to us by a young lady with mild intellectual disability. She was the friendliest staff I've ever met in my life. She was so sweet and all-smiley face, telling my friend and I to enjoy our cake and stay longer in the cafe. And we did.
In fact, I found out that another familiar restaurant, Han's has also been employing not only senior workers but also people with disabilities (usually those with intellectual disabilities or autism) since 2007. It was really heartening to see such a strong support for the disabled community and I hope more people can be more tolerant and patient towards them. Only then can we work towards a truly inclusive society as one Singapore ☺️ ·
