I'm resting from my usual tonight. Sometimes I need reminders of roots. Today I had conversations with an old friend and new one too. Both inspired reflections of where I've been, where I am and looking ahead to where I'm going. In a couple of weeks I'm approaching another year around the sun, and for me, that is when a new year begins. And what a year this past one has been. There's always a tinge of sadness to lay a chapter down but then it's the very soil for the next one to spring to life with added nutrients in the foundation for even more blooms to come. Tonight I am happy, humbled, excited, sad, softened and ever hopeful. And more than anything, I am just so very thankful. •
