Didn't get to watch the #Emmys but wanted to draw #ViolaDavis (LOVE HER). She's the first black woman to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. I don't write many things about being a woman of colour on my feed (but I love drawing natural hair women). I'll have to say I'm truly proud being in this body for over 30 years despite many of the trials it has faced. Most of them made me strong while trying to break me. Some people don't get it (and I don't really care for them to, I just want others to see each other on an equal plane), what #Viola said is true: “The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is simply opportunity." I see many in my circle who do and don't get them. I was reading a collegemate's timelines last night and liked what she said, "It has ALWAYS been great to be a Black woman. The world is slowly finding out. And thank you to the ones that didn't and don't believe the hype about those terrible stereotypes. In case you didn't know, we fly as sh!t! And we have super powers lol" haha.

I'm proud to see the world changing. Hopefully eventually there'll be no care about colour, and in my lifetime.
