T O N E || Blackwork done for 'Insurgent'. Ready to move onto blocking in with oil colour. This is a new part of my process that I've been developing over the last 6 months. Laying down black detail in the dark tonal areas first, all at once, allows for a much more efficient build up of tonal range when I begin layering oils over the top, while still retaining a luminescence of colour that comes from glazes over a white ground. It's been a happy experiment - it's a keeper ? #art .
