Songül, 12, with her sister in the small village of Kozluca near Kars in Turkey.

I spent the afternoon with Songül and her family in this wonderful old village last year while on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック. The families kindness and the kindness in her eyes accentuated warmth I remember even today, found in so many places I work and travel for National Geographic magazine.
