The Archive • A year before the Arab Spring I was working on a story for @ナショナルジオグラフィック on the escalating prices of food across the globe. Cost of basic goods were rising not commensurate to income and people were hungry. Each day countless residents in a Giza neighborhood would nearly fight to purchase low cost bread, right at the grandest human created objects on earth.

Today, food prices have somewhat leveled around the globe however we are always skating close the edge of food affordability for hundreds of millions.

With our population in 2035 estimated to top 9 billion on the only place we can live, will we be able to produce enough affordable food?
