#Repost @michaelforatlanta with @grabapp I don't ever respond to the blogs or gossip room outlets because I've never felt that I should. I feel compelled on this one, not for me, but because I know exactly what this is meant to accomplish. I do know what you mean @mediatake.out. You mean to intimidate and shame me away, as well as other straight men who are like-minded, from supporting the LGBT community, our brothers and sisters in humanity, lest you will attempt to label us as "gay" ourselves. It's an outdated tactic that seeks to divide at a time when we should be supporting one another more than ever. Let me be unequivocal, I will not back down from supporting my brothers and sisters who are LGBT. And I won't be shamed away from standing up for people in my city or in any city who have been victims of hate crimes and terrorism just because of who they love. I plan on having a big tent, being a bridge builder and making sure no one feels excluded from their government. I am not afraid to stand up for people, particularly those who have often found themselves vulnerable in our society. I am not new to this. I stood up for children who were victims of exploitation when I was a federal prosecutor. I stand up for people, I look out for people and I plan to continue doing so. #MichaelSterlingforMayor #michaelforatlanta
